Overview:
Supervisor of Building Automation Systems (SBAS) will provide leadership for a team of Senior & Base level control technicians.
This role reports to the Director of Critical Facilities and is responsible for the design, installation, commissioning, and continued oversight of all existing building automation systems, which are utilized by Branch, Base Buildings, and Data Center teams.
Critical objectives require the SBAS Manager to be a problem solver on technical challenges, have strong interactive communication and negotiation skills, and utilize their extensive knowledge of building automation systems, HVAC systems, building construction, and contracting to be successful.
The role requires the development & strict adherence to Policies & Procedures, while continuously working to improve the overall operational efficiencies of critical equipment & environmental controls.
The SBAS will provide FCB with thought leadership on and lead a strategy of energy efficiency & sustainability.
This is a 70% onsite role with 30% travel required.
company vehicle is provided for local area travel.
Responsibilities:
BAS Strategy - FCB utilizes a complex system of building automation as a centralized control for our building's heating, ventilation and air conditioning, lighting, and other systems.
SBAS is responsible for the creation and continual maintenance of all department processes, controls, and best practices.
Maintains close relationships with all CRE team members, professional organizations, and vendors to remain current on industry standards and trends.
Assists with forecasting system growth, as well as infrastructure requirements, through liaison with Bank department leaders and managers.
Provides leadership on hardware & software risk management and ensures participation in audits.
Managerial Functions - Establishes and monitors expectations to achieve company and department goals.
Makes appropriate changes to BAS policies, procedures, and efficiencies in order to meet objectives.
Manages the performance, training, and evaluation of assigned staff.
SBAS will work alongside the Supervisor of Base Buildings and the Supervisor of Critical Facilities Operations.
This Peer Partnership will direct system engineers, programmers, and FCB technicians.
Vendor Management - Manages vendor relationships to improve service, optimize pricing, and gain valuable market or competitor insight.
Develops a strong understanding of vendor product strategies and service offerings and drives bidding processes for new vendor selection.
Develops methods to manage and gauge performance of vendor activities.
Project Management - Assists/manages BAS scope projects from basic to highly detailed in scope for the department.
Assesses facility needs, obtains quotes for necessary work, creates status reports, and other tasks related to managing projects.
Reviews and keeps updated 30-yr capital plans for major BAS projects.
Reporting - This position will report to the Director of Critical Facilities and will be responsible for accurate reporting on all objectives.
The SBAS will be responsible for reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in HVAC & Electrical systems, maintenance/construction management systems, supervisory experience, building maintenance, building operations, supervision of vendors, project management.
-OR-High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in HVAC & Electrical systems, maintenance/construction management systems, supervisory experience, building maintenance, building operations, supervision of vendors, project management.
Preferred Education:
An associate degree in technical trade or an applicable bachelor's degree.
Preferred Area of Study:
Controls, Electrical, Mechanical, Project Management, Facility Management.
Preferred Area of
Experience:
Knowledge or certification in Distech, Niagara, Honeywell, and Allerton Controls.
Strong communication abilities, excellent procedural experience, with a proven track record in managing multiple objectives concurrently.
License or Certification Type:
Valid driver's license Required, Niagara Preferred, Distech Preferred Additional Requirements:
People management experience Working knowledge of BAS, mechanical, electrical, life safety monitoring, and control systems typically used in base building / critical environmentsProactive in planning and execution of tasks that have been prioritized by risk factors and needSalary:
$31 per hour.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
